Our Mandate

The Celestial Church of Christ is a Holy spirit-initiated church founded in Africa in 1947. In England there are 69 churches. Our church is based in Middleton, Sadler Street and is called House Of Praise (HOP). Our main work is to offer people a place to worship for African Diaspora and other communities who follow this faith. Last year we successful received a RRR £5K application to support our new Food Pantry that we set up and opened on the back of the COVID Pandemic and the growing need among our community to respond to food insecurities.

Our Mission

To provide support to victim of domestic violence and ensure they live free from abuse done by people in whom they trust. By providing support to help reduce the issue of domestic violence which is evident from the 2016 statistics obtained from Rochdale Borough.

Who We Are

We are a church first. Our charity works are in the arear of domestic violence, food bank and cooperation. HOP plays a leading role in the community as Faith and Bame Leaders.

Who We Support

Provide a crucial life line to Women, Men or Families that suffer from domestic violence and have decided they want a fresh start. In Middleton and Rochdale (We provide support for women and men in Middleton and Rochdale area)

Changing lives with your help.

Our Social Cause

Domestic Alliance is seeking to support the victims of domestic violence in the Rochdale area. Research has stated that more than 5260 incidents of domestic violence have been reported in the borough of Rochdale between 2013 -2019. Therefore, has been identified the highest rate of domestic violence on the scale of 1000 within Greater Manchester
Domestic Alliance is a project of our Church, House of Praise. This project is designed to help and reduce the domestic violence victims who are young mothers and teenagers in Rochdale and surroundings.

With your help we want to make the following available to a wider group of domestic violence victims in our Rochdale area.

We currently benefit from the Rochdale food warehouse and these foods are not available such as Garri, Yam flour, Nigeria Pounded Yam, Indian Seipati and Home-Grown Vegetables. We need these products in large quantity in order to meet the demand of our beneficiaries and offer local diet.

Domestic Alliance will support and encourage victims to take the ownership of their life back. We will help the victims to get out of the domestic violence environment before more harm will be done. Domestic alliance will help protecting the victims by supporting them reporting any type of abuse. The most important part is for these young mothers to take accountability of their position as a mother to make sure her children are safe and happy.

Give the victims Life coaching sessions, by giving them one to one session’s to understand what we need to do do to help this victim.
Helping our victims getting (back) into school. We have had situations where victims dropped out of school or where their children were not attending school as they did not feel safe.
Getting the victims (back) into work. A lot of victims are not working as they do not have the resources or have no idea, they do have the skills to be a valuable asset for a company to grow.

Helping who do not have a stable place to life with finding accommodation for themselves and their children. We will help them with the deposit for a house if needed. Therefore, will happen if these victims are a part of our programme to get back on their feet.
To get back on their feet we will provide training and pre employability courses to make sure they are ready to get into work and able to maintain their Job.

We will provide after care to the victims. We will help them budgeting to make sure they are stable and paying their bills. Making sure they are maintaining their job and answer any queries they may have. We will also encourage them not to get back into a situation where domestic violence can occur again.
Domestic alliance will have a 24/7 emergency phone line. House of praise will have a weekly domestic Alliance class where victims can get together and give their testimonies.
